What is it? Your Book!

For two months now, I have been busy with something that I consider too ambitious. I am hooked in it and mind you I have been having little sleep and I feel like I am becoming anti-social because of this. Just the other day Kulas asked me, “Whaats cooking with you lately? No see much your singkit eyes.”

You on A Diet - Live ur Life myepinoy's Online ShopOh well yes, I am cooking something. Honestly though, I am not cooking food coz in the first place I do not know how to cook food. It is not my talent and I am not up to it. I am an EATER only.

What I am really cooking at this time is a book. My book, that is. However, up to now, have no name, title and content. (It is pretty much the same as my cooking ability ha. On the contrary I may really have something – ambition. In fact I am too ambitious to say the least (if I really have one). Ha ha.)

As always, Kulas was quick in saying that I should name it as myepinoy’s Cookbook. What? A cookbook? He said, “ Yes, you heard it correctly – myepinoy’s cookbook. It sounds great, right? It is kind of misleading, as the book will not contain anything about cooking or anything about food but something else. And who else is not doing that? Tell me.

Is not it that in our time, almost everything is misleading? Who cares about the truth? The people in our society, people behind the news organization, the governments and the people behind the Internet murdered the truth long time ago. They, the people who feed lies to billion of suckers out there, believe that what they peddle although ridden with lies, misleading information and half-truths are truthful enough and that there are real suckers who will bite whatever they write or say. Greed and commercialism and what have you created all these and as always, the truth is the victim.

Take a look at the Time Magazine. How can You (collectively as implied) become a Person of the Year when in truth, up to now, there are a lot of people who do not know what a blog is. There are also billions of people who are uneducated nor the literacy to operate a computer and navigate the Internet. Added to that, no connectivity whatsoever. And they are also YOU.

Undoubtedly, Time magazine is too greedy to declare that You – The Person of the Year. It is as simple as that. It is me Kulas speaking, The Person of the Year. Google me if you like, hope you get a truthful search result about me.”

Going back to the book, I already started the lay-out of the cover unfortunately, I have not moved that much from there. I am overwhelmed by the many ideas and concepts about the look of the book and the other small matters about the cover that I have no time to figure out what contents it should have.

Sometimes, I wonder(???) about myself being unable to decide immediately on simple matter like this as compared to the way that I decide on putting my money on share of stocks, fast and quick. Perhaps money can be easily earned than personal pride. Is it?

Now, I am thinking about the person or persons who will write the Foreword. I wish that those who are reading this will be kind enough to comment here. But, instead of the usual comment, I wish they will write their own Forewords as to what they think my book is and that it is long enough to occupy an A4 size paper. I wish I have a hundred of them. In that way, I will not worry about the content. Ha ha ha.

So, each page then would have Foreword number 1 to Foreword number 100. This book will then be called simply as Forewords.

Then I have a book (hopefully) and this post will become the Foreword.

Again, what is it? My book!

Helpful Tips and Tools:

  • If you are ambitious like me but really have that something for a book, visit this – Blurb.com.
  • If you already have the tool and you are stuck like me, might as well record your own song here – Singshot.com.
  • If after having the tool, had your song recorded and still cannot move ahead, then voicemail me.
  • If all these are not enough and you still want to have a book to read, then visit my online store and buy a book, more books or whatever . This is one the best acts you can do for me aside from writing a long Foreword.

In your 2nd paragraph, when you said you don’t cook food, I thought you’re going to say after that you only cook human beings lolz crazy thought hehe

Anyway sorry about this question but seriously, you’re making a book? wow! I want to have a signed copy okay…

Verns: Ha ha. That was funny. I missed that.

Actually, with the latest technology around, everyone can make a book, publish and sell it. The site that allows you to do this is the Blurb.com, just download their free software BookSmart. It can connect to your blog or flicker accounts and take the entries as contents for your book.

And the good thing here is that you can use this to back your blog up. You may try if you like.

That’s truly amazing … I remember years ago there was this software they sold that asked you a litany of questions. The software will then compile your answers into a book 🙂 I thought that was cool then.. I’d like to see how Blurb works though. Amazing 🙂

Making a book (even with Blurb) is quite a lot of work!
Like you I am still stuck with the cover and I feel depressed when I think about filling in the content.

Go for it! Writing a book is also one of my greatest dreams. Maybe someday – when my children are well on their own.

I’ll give Singshot a try and then let the whole world throw online rotten tomatoes my way.
