About cookies and us

Here is a beautiful poem that I would like to share to you today.

The CookiesThis is a reality check. As the last paragraph of this poem said, “How many times in our lives, have we absolutely known that something was a certain way, only to discover later that what we believed to be true … was not?

The Cookie Thief
by Valerie Cox

A woman was waiting at an airport one night,
With several long hours before her flight.
She hunted for a book in the airport shops.
Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop.

Sleepless OFW

It is already past 2:00 in the morning here. While most people in this part of the world has probably gone to dreamland or somewhere already, here I am, the so-called “New Hero”, is very much awake, still in front of my computer, ticking and clicking the keyboard, desperately looking(???) and waiting for sleep to come by.

For the last three days, I have been trying to write my thought on the Malu Fernandez episode after the rage but right words like sleep do not come by that easily.

So, instead of forcing myself and agravating my present condition, I just went through my tagalog blag hoping, just hoping that I might find something that will bring me to that elusive state that everybody calls SLEEP.

Life of an OFW, especially if you are living alone in a place where nightlife is non-existent, is downright boring, lonely and hard.

It looks like I am beginning to rant now about my so-called OFW life, so, I will end this here right now by bringing my my tagalog post about blog addict.

The Filipino is worth dying for

Twenty-four years ago today, several gunshots were heard. Then, shouts and commotion followed. Amid the organized confusion (so i guess), two men lie dead at the tarmac of Manila International Airport. One was Rolando Galman, the other,  a bullet pierced through his skull, was Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, the man who said that “The Filipino is worth dying for.

IF ONLY, we understood well and took these words of Ninoy into our hearts and minds,  “The Filipino is worth dying for“,  perhaps, our country would have been the greatest nation on earth.

No Filipino would ever equate his or her worth to pieces or bundles of these.

One expensive and stupid media blitz

WHO NEEDS THE MONEY ANYWAY.

Sa dulo ng balita, sinabi sa report na the government fell short of their announcement that it would also destroy 14 other luxury cars due to unresolved legal issues. Have they come to their senses or someone powerful tells them to stop?

Only God and they know the answer.

BIG ot Malu Fernandez

This is for you BIG ot Malu Fernandez from an OFW with wit and common sense.

malufet

Malu Fernandez is a columnist of The Manila Standard Today who had an article in People Asia Magazine titled “From Boracay to Greece“. This article smacks of bigotry, discrimination and elitist view of OFW’s “being trapped like a sardine in a sardine can with all these OFWs smelling of AXE and Charlie cologne while Jo Malone evaporated into thin air.

In her response, she claimed that “the magazine got a few e-mails from people who didn’t get the meaning of my acerbic wit.

Malu Fernandez is an unknown entity (in the net) until bloggers took notice of her bigotry. Google does not show any informations of who she is except now; all of which are from posts of Pinoy bloggers who are mad about her insensitivity and stupid view of OFW’s.

Notice (24080330hrs): I believe that we have said what must be said and we have expressed what must be expressed to the the woman who caused us hurt. And perhaps, she already learned her lessons the hard way.

This blog has been very open and liberal in accepting all types of comment because this blog does not believe in any forms of censorship BUT, as well-meaning bloggers said, there are other actions and other ways to let them know our sentiments. So, I am now closing the comment box.

Let us all move on.
