Ad lib: Sabi ng dating adik

I heard this on TV.

What do you think?

Pinayungan mo ako sa init ng araw

I can see why you prefer the second.

I dunno if this is related. This has been said of bankers — that they are people who lend you an umbrella when the sun is shining and withdraw the umbrella when it is raining.

myepinoy says, The one you mentioned is a running joke about the bank. The one I posted was from a contestant sa isang noontime show.

I like the first one: Pinayungan mo ako sa init ng araw, Di kita iiwanan sa patak ng ulan.

    I interpret it this way:
As A, the husband, works his way to success in his career, B, the wife is always there by his side to support him and at the same time shield him from the heat of limelight, so A won’t melt nor get blinded by success. (Success can be blinding, you know.) The wife therefore serves as inspiration and guiding light of A. On the other hand naman, A promises to shelter and protect B from rain (problems, hurts, pains) and of course to provide for her needs. (Ano fa! kaya nga, dapat nagwo-work ang mga hubbies di ba, to provide for wife! :D)
